About T + B Woodwork

I have always wanted to start my own business making beautiful pieces of furniture using my favourite material, wood. I always found a strong satisfaction in making things and consider myself lucky to be one of few people these days who can say that I wholeheartedly love my job.

I have been working with my hands since I turned 16 and got a job as a kitchen porter back in 2007. Since then I learnt a whole bunch about creating things and spent most of my time either cooking, working in the garden or making furniture. In 2021 my daughter Emily was born and now spend my free time with my family, swimming, going to soft plays, cuddles on the sofa and lovely walks in the countryside.

Here at T+B I make fitted and freestanding furniture using high quality materials. I prefer when possible to use real hardwoods and birch plywoods for my construction. These materials are going to last a longer time and give a much finer finish.

The Idea of the company name started with my two dogs nicknames, 'Mr Tubs' and 'The Bear' becoming T + B Woodwork. Mr Tubs being Jack the Jack Russell

and The Bear being Charlie a Yorkie cross Jack Russell.

I'd like to make a point of thanking my amazing wife, daughter, family and friends because you guys are the best.

How we work

Anchor 1

From when you first make contact to when your furniture is completed you will deal with just one person. Being just myself (and with the help of my superb wife) you wont be spending extra money on TV advertising, showrooms and salespeople. I've found this to be a far more intimate way of working and leading to a product you really want and love, as opposed to something that is being pushed by the salesperson of the moment. Below I have broken down the process from start to finish.

Enquiry

You can make an enquiry through our Contact Us Page.

Site Visit

I will then make a visit to your home to discuss the project and take any information required for a quote.

Quotation and Amendments

Using the information provided I will produce a quotation and any relevant drawings required. These will be sent by email. As the customer you will be able to request amendments. I will then adjust any drawings and make a new quotation until we have your perfect product. Once agreed upon there will be a deposit payment required.

Construction and Installation

Once we have agreed on a quotation and the deposit has been recieved it will be time to book in the construction of your furniture in the workshop. Closely followed by either an installation or delivery date. This can vary but will generally be between 8 - 12 weeks.

Final Payment

Upon completion of installation or delivery you will be emailed a final invoice to be paid within 5 working days by bank transfer.
